May Day! We are already into month 5 of 2014 and it has gone so quickly. We have had a busy April here at Nifty & Co with much jolity and fun, generally from lots of happy ladies coming to try on their new frocks from the vintage style range from Lindy Bop. The last day of April was particularly busy and we are eagerly awaiting some snaps from customers in their new get ups. To give you a taste of what has been coming in and out of the doors…

We have had so many more in the most wonderful array of colours and patterns and another delivery due 2nd May. Keep a look out for them and if you are the mood for a flounce – please come in and try on – petticoats will also be available after May Bank Holiday.
Other news on the garment front – there is a new range of N & Willow jersey dresses here in sleeveless and 3/4 sleeve, beautiful day dresses and 2 colours in a fantastic maxi dress with new linen items coming in later on in the month. We have also placed our order for the fair trade range from Patchouli Fair. These dresses went down a storm last year so lets whet your appetite for this Summer’s range with a little taster…
Saani skirt in black or natural and Renee dress.
We shall have a new range of Summer fair trade bags coming in by the end of May and also a few new fashion items including tops and tunics. Finally we have just had confirmation on stocking a range of products which we are sure you will love as an addition to the range available from the shop – we will announce this range with the formality and effort it deserves so keep checking up on us and when these new goodies will be available.
In the meantime – have a brilliant and productive May and as we head into the heady Summer days of holidays, family, summer dresses, weddings and parties keep yourselves healthy and happy and enjoy it to the full.
Love from Nifty & Bessy Dog
A quarter of the year gone already – wow, how fast was that? At least that means that the nicer weather is on the way though, always a silver lining somewhere.
We have had great fun over the last couple of months with new customers arriving, loyal customers calling in and now the season of home shopping events is well and truly underway. Its such a laugh to be with a fun group of ladies trying on the clothes and generally enjoying a bit of self appreciation and admiration from friends – nothing wrong with a bit of positivity about ourselves and our bodies I say!
New vintage styles now available from Lindy Bop label and many customers have popped in with their choices ready for the next order – you ladies certainly have taste – I really would like to see the photographs when you are all dressed up in your new vintage style frocks.
We launched a new range from a British company a few months ago and can happily say we have very little left indeed – so, we have just received the first delivery of new light weight jersey dresses for the Spring/Summer 2014 and having received the box this afternoon – I didn’t get a chance to open it all before the first dress went out of the door. Have to say that this range is truly fab! Soft fabrics and lovely styles, the maxi dress is amazing and I will try very very hard to not have one of the Ocean green ones for myself 😉
I have a few pics to take tomorrow so will try get some updated shop images up on website asap – in the meantime you can check out the facebook page to see any new deliveries.
Lots on the horizon over the coming Summer including our usual out door activities but don’t forget if you are anywhere near Pontardawe please call in, have a cuppa and a browse.
Have a great Easter holiday, see you somewhere nifty soon.
Is Spring going to grace us with its presence or are we in for a little last minute snow? Whatever the weather does we have decided to get Spring underway in the shop. We have had a delivery of our Dotty Dolly dresses and they have gone down very well the last 3 days – there are limited sizes available in the 3 versions so if you fancy a little dotty number to launch yourself into Spring pop along soon. We have placed our Summer 2014 order with our wonderful new supplier of jersey wear – the new maxi dresses and day dresses come in a range of beautiful fabric patterns. Linen tunics, trousers and jackets will make an appearance this Summer too.
There are new vintage styles planned for April and these are available in a range of sizes from 8 to 24.
Our first delivery of fair trade bags have arrived to brighten up the space with a highly patriotic Welsh Dragon Shopper bag along with a selection of sizes colours and styles to brighten up your day.
As we embark on our 5th month in the shop (doesn’t time fly) we just want to say how much of a good time we are having. Customers in the shop and followers on facebook have been very supportive and we are most grateful for the sharing of the love. We are back out on the road again too visiting our regular business clients and also booking house parties and Summer events. Every effort will be made to keep the website updated with dates and events and obviously the facebook page will have dates listed too.
So THANK YOU for your custom, kind words and laughter – its a pleasure to be in the shop and if you haven’t had a chance to visit yet we hope to see you soon.
Thanks – Zoe
First month of the year gone already and no sign of snow yet! We have been busy planning events to go to and also finding lovely new stock for you too. N and Willow is now available and offers an array of styles and fabric patterns in a beautifully comfortable and soft jersey material. There will be some new wrap tops on the way very soon and these are one size available in 12 colours – perfect addition to bring a bit of Springiness to your outfit.
We have also found a new collection of little dotty numbers in a vintage style – these Dotty Dolly dresses are available in 6 colours and sizes 8 to 24. We are just about to place our first order for a selection of colours which we will be launching at a local Spring Festival.
Again, another new supplier for us is a wonderful Fair Trade company based in Wales and all labels are bilingual (great for me as a Welsh Learner) first delivery of fair trade bags is on the way and a special Welsh Dragon bag will be here in time for St Davids Day celebrations. They also have a great range of sizes, colours and styles along with a selection of home decorative gifts like animal sculptures, bowls and coasters.
Lastly we have organised a new paint job on the shop which will go ahead during half term in February – we need to brighten our frontage and get more people to come and see the beautiful things we have to offer and to visit the rest of Pontardawe. Bookings for Summer events are well underway and also home shopping parties are being booked so we are sure to see you somewhere soon.
Keep a look out for a special event at the shop during March where we will encourage cupcakes and general fun in trying on the new Dotty Dollys during an afternoon.
Thank You Very Much – Diolch Yn fawr (told you I was learning)
Happy New Year. Glad to kick off with the good news that we are staying at our premises in Herbert Street Pontardawe. Its a great space for retail and an office base so we are looking forward to a couple of weeks of planning and getting broadband sorted so at least this site can be sorted once and for all with transactional capability.
Just a few things to mention – we currently have a sale on with many people taking advantage of the added bonus that there are a selection of sale garments complete with a necklace too. We haven’t been sitting about though and last week we secured 2 new suppliers of beautiful brands. The first of which will be arriving next Friday ready for a launch on Saturday 18th. A lovely range of jersey dresses in a variety of fabrics and colourways – from V neck fitted bust, boat neck slinky styles to gathered/flare boho styles – can’t wait to get the first house parties underway with these on board.
Over Christmas we added Hell Bunny and Spin Doctor to our range which has proved highly popular with those who dare! Rockabilly dresses, lace up back jackets, Victorian style shirts – the kimono dress didn’t last long and neither did the scallop velvet skater. A fantastic choice for something a bit different and during the spring we shall be having more of this great range in including the petticoats to really make your dresses SWING!
There will be a new highlight section for February on Information & Links and we have just started booking events for 2014 so will keep you posted on where we will be. Looking forward to a few Vintage Car shows again – always great fun.
Have a successful start to your year and pop in and see us sometime.
Well, that month went very quickly indeed. We can’t believe that the shop has now been open a whole month – time has flown by. We have had wonderful support and lots of friendly people visiting us and now look forward to a fun December. We have just managed to get tree and a few decorations up and a few orders for chunky knit jumpers and ponchos have come in and straight out again too. The next 2 weeks will see the final deliveries prior to Christmas so if you want to bag yourself a warm winter scarf (from £8) or perhaps buy a gift of beautiful fair trade incense cones then you need to call in and see us.
When I say us I mean either myself, Bessy dog, the husband or to be honest any family member or friend who may be helping out for the day. A warm welcome awaits you.
Look forward to seeing you throughout December and onwards 🙂
