Storm Gareth has delayed our lovely Spring start but he will soon leave our shores and we can get on with the business of Spring fun. So much has been going on here during the last 2 months, a little change around, new suppliers, event dates and a few more things to come during April too.
Our Spring Fashion show is now sold out and we are so grateful for the support you all show when we put these little soirees on. There are more dates in the diary for themed events in conjunction with Blissful Bakes so watch out on the Facebook page as announcements will be made very soon.
New season Thought clothing has been a big hit with you all. So many people are looking for the ethical fabrics and companies to deal with and we definitely have a great supplier and forward thinking company to work with at Thought. More Summer items on the way too.
Patchouli Fair has arrived for Summer ’19 and filled the shops with lovely colours and patterns. Pop in to Pontardawe or @The Coterie in Clydach for a little bit of Nifty. They have new additions of bedspreads and cushion covers to brighten up your home too.
Talking of which we are just in the process of placing an order with Ian Snow again for more home décor fair trade goodies and images will be posted as soon as they arrive.
Lastly, don’t forget we are available for private shopping parties and also colour sessions…bring your friends, book an afternoon tea and settle in for an afternoon or evening of fun.
There will be another post for this season real soon but in the meantime…be your beautiful selves and dish out your good vibes.
Nifty & Co
Welcome to the new season
After a wonderful level of sunshine this Summer it has certainly turned into Autumn in the last day or so. It’s a good job some of you managed to get the new boots that came in 2 weeks ago. We have spent lots of time looking at new suppliers for this Autumn/Winter and have started to receive the new range. Suzy D dresses are proving very popular and great to wear with boots and a chunky knit. We post a couple of outfit ideas on our Facebook page you may wish to check them out.
Next to arrive is a selection of velvet from SoBoho. A new range perfect for a little bit of relaxed glamour over the forthcoming Christmas party season. Printed velvet jackets, tops and dresses – definitely something a little different. This is due to arrive October 15th and will be added to the shopping options as soon as we can.
The next event at the shop will be in December and we are currently finalising the date for a late night shopping event with nibbles and the usual fun. We shall advise date as soon as possible.
Pop in soon, we have new scarves, jewellery, gloves and all things gifty waiting for you to see. New hand made gift bags on the way from Once In A While and plenty of new jewellery ideas and home décor items from Hand Made By Anya.
Another update will be posted end of October; we are offering an additional service to your colour analysis sessions that are currently available to book with us and will have news on that soon. We are also in discussion with a new supplier for Spring 2019 with lots of unusual and beautiful things we can’t wait to show you.
Don’t be afraid to embrace the Autumn – the colours are amazing 🙂

Looking forward to getting these in and filling the shop with floral pretties again. If you like your FAIR TRADE and ethically sourced products pop in for a chat and a look at the new range soon.
We are also off on a buying trip mid February with a view to adding to the collections available from the shop. One thing is for sure – the new Joe Browns Couture range of footwear will be a definite…

Wrap up – winter is coming!
All the best
This has to be the year we get the website sorted out once and for all. We have so much to tell you….including that we are now your local stockists of JOE BROWNS label. This has gone down very well and we are really looking forward to the new Spring/Summer collection which will be on its way in the next 2 months.
We have also added a new vintage dress brand to the collection the first delivery will be with us by mid January. You now have four vintage labels to choose from and we will soon be filling up once again on some fabulous new styles in time for Spring.
A new jewellery brand is also now available. The first order has just been placed and will be with us for end of January. Fair trade and beautiful – we can’t wait for you to see it.
We will continue with our small but wowzer shoe collection from Ruby Shoo and also now have Joe Browns footwear also available. We can also obtain menswear from Joe Browns and will be doing more of this as we approach Spring.
In the meantime please make allowances for the fact that Zoe is a little rubbish at website stuff but as soon as this Open University course is finished we should be on to a winner…look out.
Have a great start to 2016
Zoe & friends at Nifty
Welcome to the new year and welcome back to the Niftyness. Its been all go here recently and despite the cold I am raring to go. Having recently moved I am now based in a new home at number 8 Herbert Street, Pontardawe and frantically organising the new ranges soon available for Spring/Summer 2015. Also I am currently booking the first few outings to fairs and events so have sort of hit the ground running so far this year.
Our wonderful vintage styles supplier have recently introduced a range of dresses for little girls from age 3/4 to 11/12 and a selection of these will be with us very soon for you to see. Would really like some feedback on them so if you have a little lady who could come try please pop in end of January for a swirl.
I have also discussed the introduction of a new vintage range for those special occasions. A UK company, UK designer and UK made dresses, skirts, tops which currently range from 1930s styles to 1960s but soon introducing a range of 1920s too! I can hardly contain myself 🙂 (and they also do a range of men’s vintage wear and accessories). Again – as soon as these are on the way I will let you know so please don’t forget to pop to Nifty & Co if you have a special occasion this year – be different!
So, as I mentioned above – the move…its bigger, lighter, brighter and also right next door to a blooming tea shop! Cupcakes, celebration cakes, light lunches and teas and coffees. To be honest I will need to start getting larger clothes if I carry on. It’s great to hear the sounds of happy people chatting and laughing as they sup away on a hot chocolate and we are really settling in well here. Click here to see the tea shop facebook page.
There is so much going you really need to pay a visit soon. Independent shops including home decor and vintage pieces from Decorum, clothing for all ages and styles from our good selves, Jayne’s and Blinging Stunning, numerous hair salons and nail bars/beauticians, 2 florists, 2 butchers, numerous bakers and very soon a new fruit/veg and produce store. I also picked up the Arts Centre programme yesterday to see some awesome nights advertised including live stream RSC productions, a Ska night, Northern soul nights and lots more live music. So please pay Pontardawe a visit soon.
Hey – have a great 2015 and I hope to see you soon
Love n Rock n Roll
Oops – I did it again. In my defence I did just have the first holiday in 10 years so I was allowed a little down time..yeah??
Anyway – back to normal now and boy I can’t believe it’s the end of the year. Lots of new things have come in recently so here we go:
Myddfai Trading gifts have now arrived including new bath bombs in some amazing scents and also gift packs of soaps (4 per pack) for only £8. Also a new hand wash and hand lotion set in a warm ginger – perfect for winter.
New bouncy scarves are here in a range of colours and are selling pretty quickly and we also have an updated range of Mexican Heart jewellery for you to browse and purchase and don’t forget we can order for you too.
The latest news is that we are now an outlet for Ruby Shoo and our first order of Eva shoes is due before the end of November so in time for those Christmas parties. The new Spring/Summer range is available to see in a catalogue and I would really appreciate your help in choosing what to hold as stock next year.
Plenty of tunics and tops in stock along with the lovely N & Willow maxi skirts and dresses and the range of Lindy Bop dresses is due for an addition soon – looking at the beautiful velvet styles they have and they are crying out to be on the rail here for you to see.
Lots going on in the next few weeks starting with Bryncoch Church in wales School Gift Evening today (13th) and then I will be in Companies House Cardiff on 17th, the 22nd November is Phoebe Rose event in The Mond Clydach (always a good one) and then 28th I will be at the Ysgol Gynradd Gymraeg Pontardawe fundraiser at Alltwen Rugby Club; £5 a ticket gets you nibbles and a glass of wine – lots of local makers and businesses to see and it’s not on a school night!
Stay warm, behave (if you can) and enjoy your November. Hope to see you soon.
Oops – I did it again. Slack Alice indeed. Nearly 2 weeks of October gone by and no update…
Lindy Bop dresses still a favourite with the next order due to go Oct 17th you have time to order that special frock for any Christmas (I said it!!) parties you may have in the diary.
New N & Willow Autumn/Winter Stock has started to arrive, a mix of colours to brighten up even the darkest winter’s day. Lilac, raspberry, sunflower and peach to name a few – available in body hug tops (ideal for under tunics and to make your summer dresses last a bit longer) and also drape cardigans. New Maxi skirts now in and a range of ditsy dresses and a cracking 70s inspired zip tunic dress.
Also a new range of capes have arrived in leopard print, plain colour with contrasting Aztec print edging and a beautiful patch blanket cape all at £25!
We have a new range of locally made jewellery from 2 artisans and also taken on board the Tropic Skincare range which is now available to order through shop or bespoke website.
I think that’s it…oh, new fair trade items due for November including Mexican Heart Jewellery and some home decor items and scarves including sari silk throws.
Now that’s definitely it – I think 🙂
Always something new at Nifty & Co
Have a great October and don’t get too spooked at Halloween.
What a great start to the Autumn? The weather has been beautiful and really helped with those last of the season outdoor shows. The Heart of The Valley Show was another fantastic day and we thoroughly enjoyed it, meeting new friends and greeting customers from last year too.
We have just been busy shopping and checking out the new things for Autumn/Winter and hoping that you will like them. There will be plenty of floaty tops with lace/jersey and also some beautiful colourful accessories such as drape cardigans, scarves and layered tops. The vintage styles still prove to be a favourite choice for many and it’s always a fun filled time when customers come in to try on and order their own specific choice – long may it continue.
Look out for some new additions in the coming weeks as we get back to the fair trade gifts and home decor items in time for the Christmas shopping period – there are some gorgeous home accessories to see including some fair trade rugs, tea light holders and silk throws – getting excited as we await delivery.
We will also be updating the Mexican heart jewellery stock as this went down a storm last Christmas so we shall have plenty of lovely things available for those special gifts.
The last thing we still have left on the to do list is to paint the shop – having got as far as getting the front washed down in preparation the next stage of painting should go ahead during the next 2 weeks – maybe more of you will see me on Herbert Street as we become known as the duck egg blue shop!
Have a lovely September and hope to see some of you soon
Yes, I am very naughty…neglecting the website and also not getting the shop painted yet. I am in a dilemma as to what colour we should go, thinking along the lines of pale duck egg, pale raspberry or maybe a neutral stone? Hmmmmm.
Anyway – no excuse really for being so slack on here so for a quick update –
Lots of things have been going on over the Summer so far and mainly this involves dresses/frocks and petticoats 🙂 there has been much swishing and swaying and general enjoyment of the frock with customers enjoying the feminine feel of a fit n flare garment. As we move towards the autumn I am beginning to imagine the colours and fabrics I want to bring you but it’s hard when you design a collection in your head that doesn’t exist! I will however keep trawling.
Lots of pastel floaty Italian tunics and dresses have been making their way out on the street lately and plenty of linen too. Don’t forget we are stockists of N and Willow who have brought out a beautiful new collection for Autumn/Winter – I am just trying to narrow down the order so I still have room for everything else.
As far as this lovely little Town goes we have just had the Summer Festival and it was an absolute pleasure to see so many people walking about over the weekend. The music was great, the stallholders were fun and we also had a local restaurant set up an outside arrangement for serving food and offering takeaway – yes I did partake. A big well done to all organisors 🙂
Lastly – we have just become stockists of Vintage Life magazine with the next issue available shortly. A fab magazine if you like all things vintage, if you are interested in receiving this magazine regularly please let me know and I will put your name on the list.
Have a wonderful end to August and may the sun shine on your beautiful heads
Love and light
